Telangana State Aviation Academy

Telangana State Aviation Academy has a rich history dating back to 1932 when it was started by the Ex-ruler Nizam of Hyderabad under the management of the erstwhile Government of Hyderabad. Initially known as the State Aero Club, it was responsible for providing aviation training and promoting the sport of flying.

After the police action in 1948, the academy ceased to exist. However, in 1958, the Government of Andhra Pradesh promoted the Andhra Pradesh Flying Club, with the chief secretary as its president, secretary I&I Department as vice president, and secretary higher education and secretary finance as members. The management committee was appointed by the government with wide powers.

The Andhra Pradesh Flying Club was subsequently renamed the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy in 1998. Later, after the formation of Telangana state, the academy’s name was changed to Telangana State Aviation Academy.

Today, the academy is under the able administration and leadership of Captain S N Reddy as Honorary Secretary and CEO. Captain Reddy is a retired director of Indian Airlines/Air India with over 25,000 hours of flying experience. Under his guidance, the academy has won the Best Aviation Academy Award by the Aero Club of India/Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for the past 12 consecutive years. This achievement has made the academy the number one aviation academy in India.

At Telangana State Aviation Academy, we strive to provide world-class aviation training to our students, preparing them for successful careers in the aviation industry. Our experienced trainers, state-of-the-art facilities, and commitment to excellence make us the premier aviation academy in India.
